Oyster Mushroom Shawarma Salad
Ingredients
Salad Base
1 head of lettuce, chopped
1 beef tomato, diced
3 radishes, sliced
½ pepper, chopped
Bala Dressing
70 g Bala Cheese
2 garlic cloves, grated
1 tbsp pomegranate molasses
3 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp sumac
Shawarma-Style Mushrooms
300 g oyster mushrooms
2 tbsp Bala Cheese Olive Oil (for marinade)
Spice Mix
1 tbsp allspice
1 tbsp ground coriander
1 tbsp cumin
1 tsp sumac
1 tsp turmeric
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp ginger powder
1 tsp ground cloves
Make the dressing: Mix Bala Cheese, pomegranate molasses, olive oil, garlic, and sumac until creamy.
Prep the salad: Add lettuce, tomato, radish, and pepper to a large bowl.
Marinate the mushrooms: Coat the oyster mushrooms with olive oil, Bala Cheese, and all the spices.
Grill: Roast or grill until golden and crisp on the edges. Assemble: Toss the salad with the Bala dressing. Finish: Top with the warm grilled mushrooms and serve.
